Updating From Computer

Last year I found a post that outlined a procedure to update to the computer then move the file to the gps. I didn't write down the post and the info, now I want to update to the latest version.

Can someone post the procedure?? Thanks,

Alex

Here is Garmin's current advice along with alandb's method

Here's how Garmin suggests doing the update with Garmin Express (copy and paste the link to your browser):

Here's a 2nd method from our alandb:

Both methods should work with your nuvi 650.

Thanks for the links. I

Thanks for the links. I didn't know about the first one, and the 2nd one is similar to the info I found on here last year.

I tried G-Express earlier. With insufficient memory it didn't work. But the irritating thing is that it loaded software into memory that starts each time the computer is booted. And it kept trying to do something even after I closed it, probably because my Nuvi was still connected. I did use G-Updater to d/l the new map. Now I'll look at the links to see what I need to do to move it to my SD card.

Thanks again!
