Nuvi 40 and 50 Update 2.60 to 2.70

Updated my 40LM tonight and all did not go well. I updated both the maps and the software. Something went a little haywire, and a couple of little "gremlins" appeared. The first gremlin that surfaced was that just after the Garmin screen appears on powerup, the nuvi played one of the wav files that I use to let my wife know that she is near one of her shopping hangouts. The other little gremlin, I now have a line that extends across the screen, approximately 1/4" from the bottom of the screen. It wasn't there before the updates. Both issues happened on the next few restarts of the nuvi.

Two hours of cussing... pounding on desk... hard resets... and resisting the strong urge to throw the darn thing very forcefully from a second story window .... I kinda got it working. I ended up deleting every file and folder on the nuvi (except .system) and copying all the deleted files back to the nuvi from a backup copy. I, for some unexplained reason, had the forethought to back up something (usually I don't). However, I did not see a backup of that system file anywhere.

The wav file no longer plays at startup, but the line is still there. The nuvi seems to be working OK.... all my favorites are back... and for now I am going to leave it alone (blood pressure concerns ). But, looking at that line is going to bug the hell out of me. Any ideas?
