Thanks for posting. I have been consideriung one of these and the lower price makes it more likely.

This is a great mount, although a bit bulky and heavy for travel.

Though past reviews on this site said this mount was a good mount I thought they recommended the following mount over it, especially for travel.

The portable friction mount Bear is speaking of is great for those that use a lot of rental cars. It doesn't have 2 pieces and is lighter to pack. The "bean bag" is the original and works great if you mainly use one or two vehicles from home as it is easier to move to the floor. Both are excellent mounts by the way.

I've got a friction mount of the type starting this thread. It suits me well for home use, and I'll buy a second one for my wife for her car. Though I've travelled with the friction mount for years, I've always packed it, which means fussing with the packed bag at the rental car lot. For my current trip, I put the suction cup mount for my 3790 in my carry-on, and think that is my new travel standard. It is much lighter and smaller, and the suction cup sticks well enough for the active use on the rental car.

While I saw the $16.89 price when I first saw this thread, just right now I get $19.26. Still a good price for a good mount--I'm buying one right now to go with the second family refurb 3790LMT.
