New feature?

Webupdater now verifies the installation by rebooting the GPS while plugged in to the computer and it won't close until the GPS reconnects to the computer after the reboot.

Thanks for the info.

Did it fix the problem with custom POI sub-categories that appeared with v6.30?

Nope

Maybe that's why we haven't

Maybe that's why we haven't seen it released for any of the other series that use [essentially] the same firmware like the 2595. I'm still running v6.4 which they yanked. Can't go forward, can't go back. I'd love to know why they pulled it.

Thanks.

Not released for the 2495 yet and I thought the firmware was the same.

How is it, that Garmin can't produce a stable software package for a GPS unit after so many years of manufacturing GPS units? It seems like they have to put out a newer "stable" software update with each and every new unit they market.

3590 Update

I believe they have different people working on all the different units, and none of them communicate with each other.
This seems to be why we see the same bugs over and over again.
If they would just document their issues, and then use their lessons-learned when creating a new unit, we wouldn't see these problems.

new update

I get so far behind on things, that I really appreciate a heads up on the things I don't want to clutter the ole noodle with.

Thanks

Thanks for the heads-up!

will check it out.

Software Stability

Do we know exactly what "software stability" was fixed? I hate these updates with vague release notes! I have the 3490LMT and it's the same thing (basically the same unit with a smaller screen). Staying on 6.20 for now as the POI sub-categories still work.
