New Garmin GPS

My old Garmin Nuvi 350 is starting to act up. Been a good unit and have used it for several years. Any suggestions on what new model to get. I notice that Costco always has them on sale, but not sure of the models to look for. I do want a bigger screen, voice prompts, easy to load POI's etc and trouble freeThanks for your help and have a great week.

Agreed

I agree with all your thoughts and would add:

get a unit with 4GB or more of space:

personally, Lane Assist and Junction View are important to me.

Lifetime Maps are essential for my future purchase.

Decide whether Traffic is desirable and whether you only want to consider a current model or are willing to buy a discontinued model.

Once you've got a good feeling on model(s) of interest, search The Factory or the web and check to see how many problems if any are being seen with the model(s) under consideration.

Do a Comparison of features:

Note that your 350 plays mp3 files while new models do not. If your Custom POIs use audio alerts, remember that you need to use wav files and install sox.exe to your PC:

Garmin models

Start with this Garmin link, select the 5" screen feature and then select what other features you want

Once you get an idea what you want then you can ask how others questions about that model

BTW, I love the 5" screen over the 4.3 screen.

EDIT: CraigW beat me with more info, oh well. I'm still sleepy.

I have the ...

2455 model which I traded in from a Xmas gift that was a 40.

I love this model and fits me well.. I think the 30/40/50 ones are more for someone that really do not need any extra things but JUSt to get from point a to b.

I do wish I got the next model up but only for the hands free part. Rest of it I would not care. I also would have liked the 5" screen but this is doing well for me.

I like it but do LOVE my C580.. They just dont make them like they use to!!

My 350

I changed the battery and it's been working great. I have life time maps. It's updated with new software and works like new.
I would like to get a new one but this one still keeps working. Best of luck on your new purchase. The battery could cause you some problem on your 350 but you can buy it from ebay and check u tube for how to change it.
Cheers
