Need question answered

I have a Nuvi 660 that has been acting up for sometime now. So my wife and I decided to purchase a new GPS for an upcoming trip in April.

We decided on purchasing a Nuvi 1450LMT. On my 660 I have a memory card installed that I had the Red Light Camera poi loaded on to it. I once subscribed here to gain access to the red light camera poi.

My question is can I transfer the red light camera poi from the 660 memory card to a Micro SD card for the 1450?

Thanks,

Bill

Sure

Sure, just make sure that the file structure on the new card is correct. You need a POI folder and the file will go in that folder. This is probably the same as what's on your current 660's SD card.

Thanks.

After I posted my original. I found another topic discussing the same thing.

I thought I had some Micro-Sd cards lying around. Can not seem to find them though. I know there is one in my wifes old phone before she got her iPhone.

Thanks for the reply.

Old?

Your statement makes it sound like you downloaded the red light camer a file once, a long time ago and now want to transfer it to your new GPS. If that is correct, are you aware that this file is updated weekly and if you do have an "old" file, it may be missing a lot of new camera locations.

Just an FYI.

Gary, Yes, lol. Hoping to

Gary,

Yes, lol. Hoping to get updated soon. As I said in the original post. My wife and I are taking a trip in April. Heading to Tennessee to visit some of her family.

Also deciding if there are any other POI's to add for the trip.

Just an idea

Depending on the date your leaving in April, try and regain your active status membership in order to get the most recent update of both the speed and RLC files.

You can also purchase if you don't have enough time a subscription for a month because the locations change regularly.

Don't forget the "Rest Areas Combined" file - don't leave home without it !

Truck Stops.

When I travel I also have truck stops loaded so that I can buy gas and "rest" at the same stop.
The average price of gas from Iowa to Chattanooga TN was $3.57 the last 2 weeks.

Word to the wise

In my travels I have come across a few truck stops with those claw game machines, with the added bonus of $10, $20 and $100 bills rubberbanded to the stuffed animals.

Don't count on winning!

Claw game

If it just a stuffed, I try to win one for my kids. Anything else I just do not try. Like on year I was on the boardwalk at a local beach. This was when the Wii gaming consoles were just coming out. There were giant claw games setup up and down the boardwalk with Wii gaming console boxes inside. Weighted down of course. Between three of us (my friends and I) I believe we spent enough money to go by one off the shelf trying to win one.
