Time Zone File

Did you make a backup of your 660?

The time Zone file should be in your Garmin folder with the name of "gmaptz.img".

Does an older nuvi like the 660 even have or be able to use time zone files?

My older 750 and 855 nuvis do not have a TZ file while my 295W does. I think a 660 is even older or about the same age as my 750.

Just checked my 660, there is NO gmaptz.img file.
I think you are correct in stating the 660 is too old to use the file.

The only thing I can think of that's it's not for a 660 that member geochapman has in his signature, perhaps he has a newer unit.
Other possibilty is he copied it to the 660 from somewhere else.

You could be right, I never knew that POI existed.
If you are correct, the original poster can just download the CSV file and reinstall with POILoader with the link you provided.

The file won't load correctly. It needs repair.
It has a header line and also has blank lines used to separate the states.

Yes I know where the Time Zone file is on my Garmin and yes it works on the 660 and the 3790. I remember it being on the files here and I thought it was more comprehensive than this one. I was looking to see if there was an update someplace. Maybe I found the file elsewhere but I doubt it. I will have to examine the contents to see if this is it. In that case there is obviously no update. I do appreciate your finding it for me.
