You may need to login as Administrator - or havee Admin privileges due to the security lockdowns builtin to the OS.

Rights and version
I am running it with no problem on Windows 7. Make sure you have admin rights to install and make sure you are running the latest version of POI Loader (2.71), although I've run version 2.6 on Windows 7.

I have installed it on all three windows 7 computers
In October of 2009 I installed Windows 7 and I have installed varying versions of POI Loader over the last 2+ years including the latest version on all three windows 7 computers in our home. Two are running 32 bit and one is a 64 bit version. They all installed without a problem and run fine.

Tried login as Add. Does't work. Thanks
.NET framework maybe?
From your original error message, it appears that POI Loader's installation thinks you have the wrong Windows OS.
A lot of Garmin software requires Microsoft's .NET Framework and when .NET's missing or corrupt, installations fail with no error message or an incorrect message.
Have you recently checked for Windows Updates on your computer? In Windows Update, check your Update History and see if any updates failed. If you go to Control Panel, then Programs and Features, do you see Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile listed as being installed?
I'm not sure that this is your problem since the POI Loader installation page does not state that .NET is needed but given the issues you're having, it'd be worth looking into.
Another thing worth checking is your Windows System window. Does it say that your Windows Edition is some flavor of Windows 7? If so, what Service Pack is listed?

Thanks. Will try it.

Your suggestion of getting Microsoft.NET Framwork4 loaded on my computer. Thanks again.
Interesting
Your suggestion of getting Microsoft.NET Framwork4 loaded on my computer. Thanks again.
That's interesting since Garmin's requirements are stated only to be:
System requirements
IBM-compatible PC running Windows XP Service Pack 3 or later operating system.
There's no mention of .NET Framework.
XP Doessn't Require Netframework

I don't have NerFramework installed on my XP SP3 and any version of POILoader worked without it. I'm a fanatic in running Windows XP as lean as possible. I use Acronis True Image and make images of my sytsem. The smaller the operating system the faster I can create and restore images.
Whenever I install new software I always make an image before installing. If I don't like it or something goes wrong I simple restore the image in minutes so no debris left on my computer. Windows Restore is useless in my opinion, if you get a virus and set a restore point, the virus returns. I have sytem restore disabled.
I do have a image I use exclusively for Garmin programs when I need it which includes NetFramework.
With Garmin Program and maps the system is 10GB, my lean XP image is 2.3GB, huge difference. Netframework eats up a lot of drive space.

POI LOader
POI Loader was not under my Garmin button until I loaded Net Framework and then loaded POI Loader. Then it was there.

I agree with you. You are running Windows XP with SP 3.
.net Framework makes the system run slower. Did you load the 100 or so updates from Windows Update? What about IE 8? If these aren't loaded, how do we get rid of the nagging for Windows Update?

My XP has all current updates (selected by me) but no Netframework.
Some programs do require it, when I need it I just restore my XP image that has Netframework installed.
I'm also running IE8. Automatic Upadates is disabled.
My Antivirus program, Eset Nod32, automatically warns me when critical windows updates are available. The icon in the task bar changes from green to orange. When I update I review each one and see if I really need it, if I don't like one I put a check mark to hide it. I want to control whatever is installed on my computer, automatic updates takes away this control.
As I mentioned I always make an image backup before adding any software, that includes Windows updates.
I run the computer several days and make certain everything is working properly, then I delete all the update uninstall files that the update installed. Acronis True Image is the best software I ever owned, it has saved me countless times when a fresh XP install would have been needed to correct a problem. I have 1.5 Terabytes hard drive space so I can store as many images as I want.
