Use Open Street Map POIs With Garmin City Navigator

One of the ideas that I ran across yesterday was using City Navigator (CN) Maps with Open Street Map (OSM) POIs. There reasoning was that CN has things like Junction View, Lane Assist and Speed Limits displayed, but Open Street Maps have more current POIs.
Anyway, has anybody here downloaded just the OSM POIs and saved it as a POI file?
