POI Loader Crash

Nuvi 1450
Latest POI Loader
Windows 7 64 bit system.

The latest POI loader has been working flawlessly on this system. Tried to update POI files this morning and the APP keeps crashing half way through the first process.

Tried what Garmin recommended on their FAQ, deleted POI Loader, went into and fixed registry items. The reloaded and tried to run again. Same error.

Any ideas?

any new or different POI files?

May not help but try this

Try one POI file by itself and see if that loads. Recall that the new POILoader no longer overwrites the old POI.GPI file it created but lets you name the output .gpi file.

If that works, then the problem is likely in one of the files your are trying to load. Split files in half and try each half. For the half that fails, split and repeat.

BY THE WAY - wish everyone stated their problem as completely as you have.

And

Also that the new version creates a poi.poi file depending on if you are sending to main memory or a sd card.

Nuvi 2460LMT.

And all that data really is

And all that data really is pretty useless unless we have access to the debugger compiled version and source code.

A good verbal description is better than a bunch of addresses and .DLLs unless you do have the debugger version.

Fixed !!!!!!

To make a long story short.....after opening each POI .csv file and checking for errors.....etc; on a lark, I took the entire contents out of that folder, created a new folder, put the contents into that one and ran POI Loader, it worked! For grins, put the contents back in the 'old' folder and the Loader crashed. It works and I'm happy !

Go figure

I have seen the future and it is now!

God Bless Windoze...

I just built 2 machines from scratch. Each one Windows XP (same CD in fact). One runs EPE fine. The other one (the desktop, of course...) throws an error every time a Google map loads... I updated Windoze Deplorer, ran all the updates, still errors. I just use the laptop for and POI work now...
