The unit has a little over 7 GB of internal memory, with about half of that used by system files.

If anyone has purchased any of the new models try to tap and hold the battery icon if there is one for 8-10 seconds to see if a diagnostic screen appears. If it does you can report back to this post and http://www.poi-factory.com/node/34594 the actual memory size reported by the GPS itself.

Plus we will all know if the diagnostic screen works on the newer models too.

I just picked up a 2595LMT today. The diagnostic screen does work and it's reporting 8GB of RAM.

Thanks. Now we know that Garmin is reporting the memory lower than the unit does and we know that the newer units have the DIAG screen.
