Need Help With POIs for Tom Tom

Greetings All,
Need a little help. I have downloaded several groups of POIs, DinersDrive-ins&Dives for example, in the proper OV2 format for my TomTom. I then move it over to my GPS, it shows that it is there, space is being taken but when I try to open that category, it says no POI found? My guess is operator error but I am apparently not smart enough to figure it out. I guess I don't know what I don't know.

This?

As a Garmin user, I have no TT experience. Did you find this faq and follow the instructions provided there?

There was also something about the OV2 files from here not working. The creation program Poi factory uses is messing up. Last I heard JM is working on that.

The solution was to download as a csv and convert it to OV2 using EPE (extra poi editor).

Skipper Records

Yes, it looks like additional skipper records are needed for some files to get them to display correctly.

This is still on my to-do list. I had hoped to get to it earlier but have been busy with MaryAnn's transition.

As pwohlrab points out, using EPE to convert CSV to OV2 is the recommended workaround.

I found that if you take the OV2 files from here and load them into EPE and then resave them as a save as you also will fix them to work properly on the TomTom.

Skipper records

VersatileGuy was very helpful and did some research for us on the skipper record issue.

I've made some programming adjustments that should fix the issue of showing POI icons en route and the proximity warnings for TomTom users.

There may still be some issues with very large files, but for most files I think this change will solve these issues.

Thanks VersatileGuy!
