"Miss POI"

My time here as your fearless leader is at an end. I have taken a job with another company as a help desk agent. I am very excited about this new career and am looking forward to continuing my work in the field of customer service and technical support.

I will not be gone; I will still be checking in and being a part of the family that we have all become. I love you guys and I will continue to support this community.

Please be good to each other and the staff here at POI-Factory. Together we have all built something that we can be very proud of.

I look forward to watching this community grow and prosper, you guys and gals are truly incredible people that have huge hearts and a passion for helping your fellow GPS geeks out there.

I wish you all the best,

Maryann
AKA Miss POI

Thanks for all of your work!

Thanks for all of your work! You've made this a great site!

Bye and Bye

Like everyone else - You will be sorely missed - you helped everyone and kept others in line.
Good Luck and always enjoy life.

Itt's The Classic Good News/Bad News

Congratulations on the new position. Based on your history here, there will be some very happy customers getting support.

Today's my last day at work....

Tonight I'll be on Summer PTO. And I was looking forward to spending more time than usual with my favourite web community.

Today also brings me this terrible news, our Beloved and Highly Appreciated and Envied Miss POI is leaving us.

She says she'll still pay us a visit every now and again, of course - but I still want to cry.

Of all Topics in this website, it'll certainly be one of the most important to us. No disrespect for you JM, but we were so used to paying our respect to Miss POI...

Miss POI - because i'll never get used to calling you a different name - I come from over 20 years in the same field of expertise you are about to (re-)embrace. I know that after managing our rowdy crew here, you'll be doing more than just fine.

I hope that this new opportunity for you will be as beneficial as can possibly be.

The loss for us will be terrible, though.

You were a Mother, a Friend, a Mentor, and so dedicated to us. You put up with our jumps of moods (which may prove handy in your future job.... It's only the experience talking here !), you kept us in the right path and in an almost orderly fashion - some of us acted worse than they really meant.

And they'll share the loss with us...

But we will all respect our Leader - that's YOU. And we'll also respect your decision and wish you the very best in your Future.

We can only hope that you'll keep some room for us in your heart and in your schedule.

Miss POI, I'll finish with the fact that some of your Bad Kids - that's us - are located ALL AROUND THE WORLD.

I speak for myself, and will certainly be followed by many, in saying that I hope you'll some day visit my neck of the woods. Were it so, please do give me/us a call, and let me/us know how we can help you in having a great time where you'll be.

Spera is a shortcut for Locaspera, which you'll easily find on the Web (Google, Google Earth even, and many other places). It means the south of France, where they have the famous Film Festival. And on the day when you'll visit that place, they better have the Tapis Rouge cleaned up and installed on those stairs.

We won't miss you, Miss POI - cuz we won't be able to. We'll always harbor the hope that you are still with us instead - that'll be more bearable.

Now I can start crying - and I'm sure many will follow suit. But we'll always HOPE - and we'll wait for your messages !

Ain't nuthin' never just right to do the things you wanna do when you wanna do them, so you best just go ahead and do them anyway ! (Rancid Crabtree, from Pat F McManus fame)

Good luck, and don't be a stranger around here.

Congrats on the new job/career. I too started a new job (almost a year ago), and am lovin' it much better than my last job.

May we inquire as to the name of the lucky company that will get your shining tech support/customer service skills? And of it's a company some of might have dealing with, how about a direct extension to reach you... or atleast your supervisor, so we can turn in high praises and compliments on your help. LOL

Well actually, the part you questioned is true too; we separated earlier this year, so I will miss working with her.

But anyway, let's keep this thread focused on MaryAnn's many contributions to the site. She deserves the recognition and thanks.

JM

Well, we will have to get used to looking at your mug shot!!

We will miss MaryAnn but understand. She was so great to us.

Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things!

Best wishes for your new adventure!

The work you've done here has been outstanding. You have organized and enthused a community of people who have become something much more than the individuals alone. Your high standards, attention to detail, kindness, efficiency, and most of all, you, will be greatly missed. Thanks so much for what you have added to my enjoyment of my GPS units. They are so much more valuable to me than they would have been without your efforts!

As the saying goes, "it's a sad day in mudville"

When you and Jon started this website, it almost instantly moved into first place. This didn't happen by itself ... it took a lot of hard work and dedication, both of which you guys are noted for. With the fantastic job you did here, I have no doubt that you will also succeed at your new HP position.

We will miss you, MaryAnn! We will be watching for your 'checking in'.

Take care.

Sad ..

Fine. First my house shook from a rare eastern earthquake, then a hurricane broke out my windshield and left me in the dark for two days .. now THIS!

This would be unbearably sad if it weren't for the thought that you'll enjoy & benefit from your new adventure.

Be safe, be well, prosper, and keep us posted!!
