Got back late last night

from Milwaukee, found out my wife gets irritated at the train whistle, due to all the RR Xings in Milwaukee, but at least it works. They have more Red Light cameras than I thought, also.

Had a fantastic time in Sonoma County this past weekend. Good beers and good friends. The cooler weather was just an added benefit.

Sat on the plane near the window so could use the GPS. Highest speed I recorded before the battery went dead was 498mph.

Irene Stay Out to Sea

I'm hoping that Irene, the hurricane, heads away from the East Coast and heads out to sea.

The weather forecasters are starting to sound alarmed.

Hello everyone!

Hello everyone!

Real Late Today

The wife & I had dentist appointments today. Supposed to be routine x-rays & cleaning. Turns out my wife had a cavity hiding under an old crown.

So I went out to the waiting room. A couple hours later, we left. Her with a filled cavity & new crown and numb, droopy lips and cheeks. I shouldn't laugh, but... laugh out loud laugh out loud laugh out loud laugh out loud

Plus, a lot lighter in the wallet. sad When I retired, the company had discontinued offering dental coverage. Bummer.

stay cool

It makes it all good…

Tomatoes and oregano make it Italian. Wine and tarragon make
it French. Sour cream makes it Russian. Lemon and cinnamon
make it Greek. Soy sauce makes it Chinese. But “garlic” makes it
“all” good...

earthquake

Good afternoon,
Looks like we just had earthquake here, at Maryland, EST 1:50pm.

6.0 Near Richmond...

Facebook friend lives nearby - felt it. I'm sure Twitter is all a twitter over it - they felt it in NY,NY and all up & down the East Coast

Yes ..

yes. looks like it measured 5.9

37.9746,-77.9689(M5.9 - Virginia - 2011 August 23 17:51:03 UTC)

Earthquake

I felt the 5.9 here in Greenbelt MD. About 90 miles away from the center. Gentle roll at first then quite a shock. As far as I can tell, only one thing fell in my house but some ceilings and roofs in the general area collapsed.

I check my power generator to see if it was working [I'm supposed to fire it up about once a month -- but I have been tardy. After a bunch of pulls, it started.]

There was an aftershock -- but I didn't feel it.

Where's My Windmill?

I don't know why I lost my windmill when in fact I submitted a gpx file weeks ago and up to now it hasn't been published. I notice I have to send it at least 2 or 3 times for it to be published. I've also joined some discussions starting this month, congratulating contributors of the week this month and others. Oh well... sad

Hi

Hi

Happy Tuesday -

Hope everyone had a good week end. Enjoy the upcoming week. Be safe out there and please take care of each other.

Sorry about that nats50. I've fixed your windmill and will start working to clear the backlogged files.
