Buying a new Garmin

I've got a couple of lower end Garmins that I've had for several years now. I would like to upgrade to the high end unit. If you were to buy a new unit, which would you buy and why? Also, I got the Garmin email too. I will definitely wait until the 24th to see if there is some new product announcement. In lieu of a new device being announced, what would you get?

Thanks!

Re:Buying A New Garmin

The top line is 3790 LMT,but there are the 3760 LMT,and also the 3750. 3790 has BT,Voice activated,3d building + terrain view.The 3760 doesn't have 3d building + terrain view,no voice activated.The 3750 doesn't have 3d building + terrain view and no BT and no voice activated.The next line down is the 24XX series.

Keep in mind that a "high-end" unit may not perform better or have more features than your current "low-end" units. But if you still feel like getting a new unit, go to Garmin's website and you can filter the list of available models by features.

I would buy the 2460LMT it has almost all the features of the 3790 but with a larger screen.

Thanks for the suggestion! I will take a look at the 2400 series. That series does seem to do most of what the 3700 series can.

Not sure I understand

If it doesn't perform better or have more features than wouldn't it, by definition, not be "higher-end"? I would certainly hope that a GPS that costs $99 bucks is outperformed and/or contains better features than one that costs $400. Is this an incorrect assumption? Or does Garmin has a terrible business model?

?????

Oh no, you were perfectly clear but Franzey was asking for buying opinion and not how to get to the Garmin site.

The 3790 is high end over

The 3790 is high end over the 2400 series for the following reasons; smaller size, and lighter; glass screen; dual orientation; 3d terrain, and the biggest difference is higher resolution. The smaller size and resolution sold me so I chose the 3790.

+1 on 2460LMT

We got our 2460LMT back in the spring and would buy it again today. With over 7000 miles on it so far it has some flaws but it has not got us into any real bad situations and got us through some tight spots in unknown downtown areas where we didn't have time to double check paper maps. Really like the voice control and the bigger screen was more important than higher res.

I totally agree, as a senior citizen with declining eye sight I too would choose bigger screen rather than higher resolution.

Yeah, bigger screen. Easier

Yeah, bigger screen. Easier to see map and touch icons.
