My local Costco just put these on display and I look at them with desire whenever I walk into the store.

I almost bought a refurb for $284, but a brand new for $300 plus tax is pretty good.

But I believe it means the 3790 is about to be discontinued. When a Garmin GPS goes on Sale at Costco, it's about to be replaced with something new.

I have also had my eye on the 3790 and now the price has hit my "sweet zone" (under $300) The comments about the 3790 seem to be consistently positive. So I might take the plunge when I had down south next month.

It's a good price compare to last year at $499 for 3790T model.

Costco doesn't have the 3790 on their site. Are you sure about the dates?

Yes. The dates are correct. They do not have it on their web site but they are on display in the store.

My local Costco had plenty of them as of yesterday and they had the sign indicating the $80 instant discount.

Costco often has things on the web site not in the store and items in the store that aren't on the web site.

But one things that STINKS (at least in Maryland) is we have a 6% sales tax, and the stores charge the sales tax on the PRE-DISCOUNTED price of the item.

That doesn't even seem like it should be legal.

BJ's has the same deal. Again, its in-store only and not on their web site.

I almost bought one until I discovered that the 3790 is incapable of downloading/uploading routes from either of the Garmin mapping programs.

Wait another few months and it will probably be $200.
