Updated Date in My Favorite Files Page?

This has probably been asked but Ive had a hard time finding any information in the forum using the search function.

I use the "My Favorite Files" function to keep my POIs updated. How come the updated date shown in the My Favorite Files listing is different from that shown on the actual POI download page?

Example: KOA USA & Canada csv

My Favorite Files page shows updated July 23, 2011
The KOA POI download page shows "Last updated 06/14/2011".

Just call me confused sad

I believe the problem is

I believe the problem is when the author uses the maintainer tools and uses edt tab. It does not change the update date. Likes it does when you update a new file. This was reported a while back for correction.

Thought I'd read something like that awhile back but couldn't find anything.

I assume the update date on the download page does not get changed but the My Favorite Files is correct?

Yes if they use the maintainer tools. Most likely that is what they done. I tested it a while back when another user found the same problem. I thought the site had already fixed this.

I just go by the Fave Files date on the page. Easier that way.

If you "upload" a complete new file to the site like I did on 6/14/2011 because I reworked it for easier use "as noted in the notes" the the "Last updated" will change.

I did a minor coordinate change on July 23rd, 2001 through the maintainer tools and that is why you get the "updated July 23 2011". Since it was very minor, I did not add a note to the note section.

So...based on how we do the maintenance, you will see a difference.

I've seen the date issue on other POIs too and have always wondered why. Wish there was an easy way to always have the dates agree.

BTW - thanks for work in maintaining the file. Have a trip coming up and it will be very helpful!

It is a file on my "need to look at again" list. I don't know when it will happen because work has been really busy. I also noticed that KOA has changed their site search. I don't know if this will be better or worse.
