I have used S&T 2006 for years and like the way it works.
But now I have a nuvi 1450 and am thinking about getting S&T 2010. How well does it compare with MapSource? Anyone use Streets & Trips 2010 with their Nuvi? Is it worth $28.00 or is it a waste of time, money and HD space?
I use both
I use S&T 2010 with my Nuvi. I actually use both S&T and Mapsource to plan our trips which are typically in excess of 4K-6K miles each year.
I mainly use S & T to plan my mileage for each day. It allows me to allocate time for rest stops, gas stops, calculate distances using how I usually drive (speed time). It also gives me estimated gas costs and tells me where I should consider looking for a gas station. Then I can research gas stations in that area for pricing.
I use info from both applications in the planning.

I also use both to plan trips. As far as S&T 2010, don't. Just wait a few weeks for the 2011 version which should be out early October - if past release dates are an indicator.
One great thing about S&T is the ability to switch segments between fastest and shortest to take advantage of some scenic routes. http://www.laptopgpsworld.com/2595-poi-mega-file-pushpin-col... will give you more POI than you can use that can be laded and displayed in S&T so you can plan routes and trips between locations.
Great for planning food, fuel, and lodging.

My 2 Cents
I use Microsoft Streets & Trips 2010 for my routes and MapSource for managing my favorites and maps.
I wouldn’t pay for MapSource as you can get it for free when purchasing a new map or click on link http://tinyurl.com/3jbxog
nüvi 3590LMT "always backup your files"
mapsource ,streets and trips
I use both but lean towards Streets and Trips.
The Home of BLUMARU HOUNDS
street atlas
I have Delorme Street Atlas, Streets and Trips, and Map Souce. In my humble opinion Street atlas does a better job routing, Streets and trips does a better job for planning, and map source sort of gives me an idea of how my gps will route me. Oh I still keep paper maps just incase.
Thanx everyone

It's good to know that it would be useful and I want to thank Box Car for reminding me 2010 is now a old program. Waiting is good.
Everyone is so helpful here. Thanx

mapsource ,streets and trips
I ahve used S&T for 5 years now and will be getting the new 2011 as soon as it comes out. It is great for planning a trip, and with the ability to download poi's into it makes it even better. I still use my 660 with either two or three yr old maps and haven't had a problem yet. edit: I also have the gps puck to use thing it on my laptop.
johnm405 660 & MSS&T
I also use both
S&T is great for route planning. But I use MapSource to transfer waypoints to the Nuvi.

One of the things I really loved about Delorme Street Atlas was the ability to "draw" my own routable roads when there was a recent road change.
It's really awesome to have a zoomed in turn by turn view and a zoomed out area map side by side on a laptop screen. Add a wireless card for the laptop and run Google, Mapquest, or anything else at the same time.
If you have a copilot to run the laptop on road trips, a handheld GPS can't compare in terms of features and controls.
Convenience, ease of use.... Well, that's why a Nuvi is on my dash instead of a laptop on my copilots lap.
