My brother-in-law asked me last night to load the 2010 map updates on his 330 since he is pretty much technically challenged. How much of the latest 2010 updates will I be able to install on the 330? Thanks in advance for the info.
I downloaded your unit's manual from Garmin and it appears that you should have plenty of space for new maps, assuming you have an SD card installed. I would suppose that the lower 48 states would fit, with AK, HI, PR, Canada, and Mexico data being installed on the card.
I've never used your model before; looks really nice!
I have a Streetpilot c530 and it doesn't take the whole US in the unit. Choices enable to load East or West, which include most states. Remainder I load onto an SD card through Mapquest.
That is pretty much what I thought, so I appreciate your taking the time to get back with me. I think I will tell him to either just use it as it is or buy a new unit. The c330 is either 4 or 5 years old, so it is probably time for a new one.
The C330 does not allow you to delete the original map from the unit, so you will have to purchase a 2GB SDcard (None HC), and install the new map update to the SD Card. Then you have to go into Settings and disable the old map. Also your map must be purchase for the 330 with the correct unlock code.
