Downloaded and installed Mapsource version 6.16.2 Now when doing routes all way points a marked with a "dot" tried to change back to old style with "flag" icon but will not work. Anyone else having this problem or found a fix.
Waypoint Flags
Try clicking on 'edit', 'preferences' and selecting something other than a dot.
If that doesn't work, display the route properties box, highlight the waypoint in question, click on 'properties' and change it there.

New default icon...
Hi.
It appears that the new version has a different default icon....the dot.

To change, go under Edit, Preferences and choose the Waypoint tab. Choose the new default icon you want and all new waypoints will now be that instead.
All previously made mapsource files should be unaffected by the update. Mine were all unaffected.

Tried all of your suggestions but still no luck getting icon to change. Is there a way to revert back to last version.

I just tried my copy of 6.16.2 and it creates a flag wherever I drop a waypoint. I did note that the waypoint preferences choice for waypoint symbol says it only applies for waypoints not created on a map feature. As the map I use seems to have a feature everywhere I select, I get the flag for my waypoint. Perhaps there is an issue with your map(s).
I support the right to keep and arm bears.

I will try a reinstall of the maps I have this version on 3 different computers and I get the same results on all 3 so that would rule out any computer problem. I have a friend having the same problem and he is using an older version of the maps on his unit.

In Mapsource, look under Preferences (Edit --> Preferences) and see what symbol is selected for Waypoints.

6.16.2 problems (resolved)
Ok after a reinstall of mapsource 6.16.2 I am able to change the symbols now. Had to reinstall on all of my computers to resolve problem. I originally did the update from the mapsource menu so this time I downloaded the file and ran it on each machine.That seems to have solved the issue.
