GPS on smart phone

has anyone compared GPS feature on smart phones ?
I guess, no map update needed on that !

.

Online apps are fine, as long as you are in range of the network.

Beyond that, phones tend to have small, relatively dim screens and prefer to be operated on battery - and battery life goes through the floor if you leave the data link and application open.

Then there's using it while trying to talk on the phone.

For the moment I prefer either a stand-alone unit driven entirely by the GPS constellation, or one embedded into the vehicle, though they tend to have other limitations.

Things may change in the future.

Currently have: SP3, GPSMAP 276c, Nuvi 760T, Nuvi 3790LMT, Zumo 660T

I Agree

I concur that Garmin is a quality product. I have three and never had any problems.
