A GPS can take you where You want to go but never where you WANT to be.

can't..

Can't agree with you more. I also used the DC poi, Maryland, Philly, Jersey list as well and enjoyed myself. My wife hates when I bring up POI factory all the time.

That's good to know...

I started the D.C. file, and always wondered if anyone used it given that the town is so car-unfriendly that you have to park some place, and walk/metro everywhere else you go.

D.C. is my birthplace and hometown, and despite my bias, I think it's the world's greatest city. Couldn't stand to live there these days because of the traffic congestion in the area, and I sure can't stomach the politics. But, it's a wonderful place for what it represents, and the tourist sites are second to none, IMO.

Washington DC Metro Files

As a Marylander, I use them all the time, despite the exponential growth in traffic.

BTW, I get the same complaints from my wife when the redlight & speed cameras alert.

Fred

dc traffic is the exact

dc traffic is the exact reason i didnt drive. i was relieved that i didnt drive because the whole area was bumper to bumper traffic. every where i went i saw cars stuck.

if you drive to dc stay in a place away from the city but close to a metro stop so that u can make your visit very easy.

dc metro by the way is one of the cleanest and most efficient metros

Metro is great...

...a tad over budget, and a tad late in being completed, but a good system. I wrote a term paper for high school on it - in 1970 - and it was supposed to cost $900M as I recall, and be complete in 1975. Oh well. Then again, I moved to Boston when the Big Dig was about to start. That's another story of a tad over budget and a tad too long to finish...

I found the poi files for the DC area extremely useful. It is an area infested with red light and speed cameras. The files made it easy for me to navigate while there the other week. I say thanks too.

Those compliments are good to hear.

I often wonder if people are just gathering POI files obsessively, and never really use them. So it's gratifying to find out that they are put to their intended purpose, and make a difference in people's lives.
