Anyone finding good Black Friday deals on Garmin GPS?

Amazon had the 285WT for $130, I think. But the price had gone up since then. You can still get the 265WT for $160 with free shipping and no tax most places.

I picked up a Garmin

I purchased the Garmin Nuvi 255WT for 129.99 from BestBuy on Black Friday. BestBuy also had the TomTom XL 330S for 99.99.

Cyber Monday

For Cyber Monday, Best Buy has the Nuvi 765T for $199 - online only (price good Sunday & Monday). You can order it online and pick it up in-store (though I think they are offering free shipping).

Garmin 255W

CAD$139 for Garmin 255W at FutureShop. A lady was pricematching it to Walmart's CAD$128 and I joined in. smile Liking it so far, depite not being able to plan route with multiple waypoints, without some form of hack.

garmin nuvi 255W

Target has them advertised for $129.00 in todays newspaper. For the week 11/29 - 12/5

Nuvi 350

Tiger Direct has the 255W

Nuvi 255W at tigerdirect.com for 119, free shipping and no tax.

I never ordered from them before, this was too good a price to pass up... Found it on google shopping. Ordered Saturday and got a UPS tracking number within hours.

One more gift problem solved!

255w at Best Buy

BB had the 255WT for 129, and there was a paypal deal for 20 off anything over 100. Ordered one, hopefully will see a 20 credit in paypal soon.

255WT at BB

I ordered 3 255WT's online on Friday to avoid the crowds. I got an email Friday night saying they were backordered. I went to the store Saturday morning. No crowds and lots of 255WT's for $129. I ordered the bean bag mounts and cases from Amazon in consumer friendly packaging and saved over the retail packaging. In canceling the online order, the agent said he had heard several similar stories.

nuvi 855...cyber Monday

Amazon has the 855 for $199.99 (no T for this unit unless you get the 885T with soon-dead MSN). I ordered one for a backup unit but it may very well turn out to be my main unit. We shall see as it has the more advanced features (road & area avoidances, etc) I've been wanting but unwilling to pay through the nose for. If you already have multiple traffic receivers and no use for Bluetooth, this is one hell of a deal. Don't know how much I'll actually use the voice activation though since I have a quite loud/rumbly V8...I'm quite used to using a touch-screen.

DorkusNimrod 855

DorkusNimrod, I will be anxiously awaiting your comments about the 855. I have been considering doing the same thing as the voice capability intrigues me and would hopefully eliminate the temptation for me to use the touch screen when I know better. $199 for a new 855 is a good deal.

855 is really a good one

I own a 855 and bought a GTM-20 traffic receiver off ebay that had lifetime TTN subscription on it. Its been rock solid. I do use the voice commands as my unit sits on the dash on a Garmin beanbag mount and its not very convenient to reach out to touch it to search for stuff.

Yesterday the 855 came very handy when returning from my Thanksgiving holiday as it prompted me about traffic and detoured me around a 90 minute delay.

The only con is that the TTS voices are low, but I managed to use TTS Voice Doctor to increase the volume level to 95% and now its alright. My nuvi 350 still has louder voice. The other thing I hate abut it that the battery discharges pretty fast when unused as the unit does not have a "OFF" button. The only way to turn it "OFF" is to remove the battery from the battery compartment. So I had to buy a 1 Amp AC-DC adapter and I plug the 855 in after 5 days of inactivity to fully charge the battery.

Garmin 1490t

sorry for the late post but Costco had the 1490t for $249.00 this past weekend.

Garmin 260W @ Best Buy Online

Garmin 260W, online through 11/30 for $114.99

I scored the Best Buy Garmin 255WT on Friday, too

Not one of the hot items they had plenty just a big box on the floor ripped open and looking like a shark attack victim. Loving the unit!

Target

If you miss that, Target has the 765t for $209.

Save even more $$$

I just bought a TV through Newegg, or rather my wife did using my Newegg account.

She got an extra 2% off by going through our bank site to get to Newegg.com.

Discover card, and many banks will give you a discount if you go to their site, log in and then enter an "affiliate" site.

Can't save a whole lot on most GPS's, but it could offset shipping.

Check out your bank and Credit Card sites for affiliate listings. A buck is a buck!

Amazon 285WT

I ordered the 285WT for $129 and free shipping. I know the MSN is going away, but the price was really good, and I hear the traffic updates are not all that great.

255w

got it for $119 at staples on black friday.

Costco,Flebay

Costco and flebay are great places to shop around, i personally think is abit to early to be shopping right now, prices will be dropping mid December or so when stores are desperate to get rip off inventory, this just my take on it, i could be wrong though.

755T

Costco flyer had the 755T for $199.

Got mine from Bestbuy for

Got mine from Bestbuy for 129.99 also.

me too

I ordered the 765 from Best Buy also but now it is on back order.

Any good deals this week?

I am in the market for another GPS. We originally bought one unit to share between myself and my wife. But she is hogging it all the time. Several occasions recently when I needed one but don't have it because the wife took it.

Nuvi Deals on Black Friday

Nuvi 255wt - $119.99 at Staples
Nuvi 2652wt - $149.97 at HH Gregg

I bought a TonTom 340s from

I bought a TonTom 340s from Target online Black Friday, but it was backordered and delayed shipment. The other day they emailed they could not honor the order so no GPS coming to me. It was $97 shipped to the door, I guess it was a popular item. I hope to get a Garmin 255W for about $100 by Christmas.

I grabbed the BestBuy deal

I grabbed the BestBuy deal as well. They had the 255W at Radio Shack, but the local B&M sold out of all one they had when the door opened. Ordered from Bestbuy.com with free shipping, I got the WT for $3 more than the 255W at RadioShack.com

Best Buy 1250T for $99.99

I was looking at the Black Friday pre ads for a cheap Nuvi with lifetime traffic. What I found and purchased before Black Friday was a Nuvi 1250T for $99.99. They were not on display. They had several in a locked cabinet. Wonder how many found the same pre Black Friday deal? I was told that the 1250T has been discontinued.

Tried to cancel

I ordered the 765 from Best Buy also but now it is on back order.

As a post script, Best Buy tried to cancel my order this week. Said they were out of stock. I checked the store near me and they were still selling the 765t but at $259. I was not a happy camper. I called customer service and they gave me the option of picking it up at the store at the sale price of $199. I ran right over.

Good price comparison site

I recently came across a site bountii.com which does a nice job of checking the major sites for prices on items and, unlike others, includes coupon codes. It can also alert you to price drops. Once you decide which model you are interested in, it may make sense to check it out.

Costco's regular prices are

Costco's regular prices are usually better than the other chain stores. I would have gone for the 14XX series for less than CDN$250, if I didn't get the 255W

I decided on a 265WT for $139.

Circuit City has them for $159, free ship, no tax. I got 13.1% off with BCB. So the final price is $139.

Garmin 255W

I was confused between Garmin 255W for $119 @ staples, office depot, pep boys, amazon and tigerdirect Vs Garmin 255WT for $129 @ best buy.
My trouble was spoken street name. Garmin 255W has it while it was advertise that 255WT doesnt have spoken street name.
I called up Garmin and they said they have discontinued 255WT , then i called up best buy and they said spoken street name is not mentioned on 255WT. But as this feature is available in 255W, it may be within 255WT too. but I was not willing to take risk.
Compairing spoken street name Vs Life time traffic I gave preference to Spoken street name and bought 255W from pep boys.Life time Traffic I can buy any time from garmin site but spoken street name feature may not be available even after ready to pay money.
Garmin 255WT is a beautiful device. now I have load it with thousands of extra POI. cool

I purchased the 255WT at

I purchased the 255WT at bestbuy during black friday for 129.99+tax. It does have spoken street names. I believe it is know as TTS technology. Since it does have this standard, it does speak the street names. Garmin did discontinue the 255WT for public purchase, however, Garmin and Best-Buy have a deal so Best Buy sells the 255WT exclusively within the United States. But i'm glad that you are enjoying your 255W. I just wanted to clarify.

855 for 189.00 @ amazon.com

Just wanted to comment that Amazon.com has the 855 for $189 and the 765 for $199.99. I snagged the 855 myself.

Thanks for clarification

Thanks for clarification BlazingAzn88. You got lucky dude...nice deal than mine.

best way to watch for deals

HI, Just a general post, but if you want to watch for the best prices, go to dealnews.com. They track each of these and provide links for easy oredering. No fees, and they are good for other items as well. (No, I do not work for them, just very committed to saving money). smile

thanks

765T for $209.99 with free shipping

newegg.com has 765T for $209.99 with free shipping and no tax. Not quite as good as Amazon but you pay tax with Amazon.

Actually, amazon price is for refurbished.. New is ~$210

$125

I was raised not to buy anything that was too good to be true and I passed up on this one. I bought it a week later at Fry's electronics for $189. You got the best deal.

While playing with your new GPS, "Please look ahead".

Tiger direct and compusa

Tiger direct and compusa (one in the same really..) has the 765T for $209.00

If you happen to be near a Brick n Mortar store(I have two realatively close), you can pick it up locally.

Considering the goofy, occasional touchscreen problems, i will note they have a very good return policy.
The 765t falls under their '30 day iron clad' no excuses return policy.
