proximity alert

Please help me. I have a Nuvi 755T and I loaded a lot of poi's but I can not get it to show up on map or get the alert sounds to work. To start with,, YES I have loaded pois and when I follow the directions, I go to TOOLS-SETTINGS- BUT there is no proximity point icon to go to. I can load pois and go to them but I want to have alert sound when I get close. I reloaded pois manually and set alerts to 16000 feet.

Have a look here

It tells you how to do it.

If you are getting the

If you are getting the alerts when you select go to to a custom poi then your set up is correct. If you are not getting the alerts when you have not selected go to the problem is that the coordinates have to be appx 50 ft off the road of travel for the alert to work. The work around for this is adding TourGuide to the file name, bmp and mp3.This will give you a radius alert. For example most Cracker Barrels are located off the main road of travel.By using TourGuide in the name and setting distance at 2 miles in manual mode will give you a 2 mile radius alert instead of the along the road alert.

TourGuide Cracker Barrel.csv
TourGuide Cracker Barrel.bmp
TourGuide Cracker Barrel.mp3

For the bmp or icon to show on the screen you have to zoom in close to see them.Garmin dos not want to clutter gps screen with icons.

What I did was when

What I did was when reloading the POIs, I set it to manual and as each one loaded, I had to set the alert to 16000 feet. Now it dings when I drive near my pois. That also put the icon in tools so I can change alert.

Thanks for the help
