Red light cameras in Chicago???

Does anyone know how the city of Chicago discloses when and where they are going to put up new red light cameras????

RLC in Chicago

As much as I know they do not disclose them as policy. Some cities can put some info about them but they don't have to do so. Usually there is some sign in place where they will be located, but they are usually to close to traffic lights to make fair warning.
But POI file with their locations from this site are very good and are being updated with new locations rather very fast. So instead of counting on police to disclose locations just load cameras file from this website.

I have many eyes and ears

I have many eyes and ears out there watching this city. I have very good data because of the members in this community.

Thanks everyone in Chicago, you guys rock!!!

Chicago Red Light/Speed Cameras

I suppose you can always write a letter to the Mayor citing the Freedom of Information Act. They'd have to respond, but there may be associated costs.

In Maryland, if I remember correctly, there is a web page cited whenever I write an email to the Governor or Montgomery County.

The city said a few weeks

The city said a few weeks ago it doesn't have enough money to put up more cameras at this point. I believe they said they might move some cameras around to different intersections.

I live in the burbs of

I live in the burbs of chitcago...

Trust me...chitcago doesnt tell you anything they think you need to know...you know?
Now get back to work and pay your taxes! The der fuerur Daley is depending on you!

I may work 'downtown', but as a rule, I spend no money in Daily's socialist utopia and c(r)ook county.

When I pull down the occasional RL update, IL, (and its suburbs) are ALWAYS adding cams.
If(when) I discover an area has started ripping off drivers with unconstitutional 'fines', I simply avoid it. I go elsewhere for my goods/services. Their business can pound sand.
(I've even had conversations with owners/managers..."Sorry...I'd visit you, but I dont want to be paying for your local RL cams on every block because your one of 'those' communities")

IL SUCKS! If the economy wasnt so bad, I'd be looking for another job. And I'm DEFINITELY retiring elsewhere.

(Thankfully they are still morons when it comes to emissions.. grin It's still easy to build a 500HP car with no catalytic converters and still pass the tests.)

When I'm shopping I keep on

When I'm shopping I keep on driving until I get to a city w/o the cams. If I have to, I'll go to either WI or Indiana. I live on the far NW side of the city proper, and make it a point to leave the city and Stroger county to do my shopping. Dupage is only 9 miles or so from where I live. (Although I won't patronize things like Wal Mart in Villa Park since they have a RLC at that intersection. The one in Bloomingdale gets my business.)
It's time to hit them where it hurts-in the wallet. It worked in Schaumburg and it can work elsewhere. The leaders won't respond to you and me, but when businesses tell them to jump they do so, and in mid air they ask "sir, how high should I jump sir"
ed: I should add I drive an economy car that gets 45-50 so a few extra miles won't kill me.
