1390T not receiving time from satellites. No option to turn automatic on after software update...

Hello,

I've just purchased a Garmin 1390T. I'm having a hell of a time trying to get the time correct on the unit.

I did a hard reset after receiving a software update from the Garmin website. Now, there's no check box for automatic time setting. Also, the World Clock shows the same time for Tokyo, London, and New York. I have the unit set to show UTC time now, so all 4 of the time locations are the same.

I'm in New York City, I have a full signal and can't seem to get past this problem.

Has anyone else seen this?

Thanks!

Josh

Sounds Like A Bug...

A quick follow-up. I had an exchange with Garmin tech support via email. They asked for a few screen shots which I sent along. They opened a bug report for the new software.

Turn Off UTC

If you choose UTC, you should get the same time for all time zones. UTC is essentially Greenwich Mean Time -- the same everywhere. With UTC, you don't get the "Auto" checkbox since there is no daylight saving time in UTC -- that is what the "Auto" checkbox turns on, the automatic changing of daylight saving time.

I just bought one, downloaded new software, and it picked up just fine. Have you tried downloading new software again.

Agree with bentbiker

Turn off UTC. Just tried it on my 265T and got a similar issue. Only thing is the local times for the different cities was different on mine.

Looking at my manual under

Looking at my manual under time setting I see restore at bottom.Manual states restore will set back to orginial time settings.Worth a try.
