Will 855 work using POI files created with Wav files

I upgraded from 255W to 855. I copied custom POI alert & tourguide gpi files from 255W to 855 not thinking about a Wav vs. MP3 issue. 855 froze up after getting first truckstop tourguide alert. It did this several times on my trip.

Do POI files created using Wav files not work on units with MP3 players?

I recreated POI files with POI Loader using MP3 files. Still the same problem. I copied MP3 files into Media folder to try to play on Nuvi Music Player. Unit would start to play Redlight camera, pop, and turn off. MP3 files played fine on pc. I took battery out several times thoughout this ordeal to try to fix / reset problem.

I loaded a MP3 song and it played fine. I then reloaded POI MP3 sound files and now they play. I also reloaded Custom POI alert / tourguide files and they now work.

I still wonder if I have an issue with 855 or with the user.

I know other users with mp3

I know other users with mp3 ability have posted on the site using the wav files for alerts to fix skipping problem when playing mp3 songs.Don't remember 855 being posted with the problem.

Can you try deleting the POI file from the device and re-starting from scratch with the mp3 alerts.

Never mind .. you said you got it working. I have not had this issue with my device yet.
