Garmin Routes

My garmin always routes me to my house using a route that is longer than necessary. When I tried the same route on mapquest, the route is similiar to garmin. the problem i realised is that the maps are not recognizing a road that is physically there and being used, hence it is routing you a different way.

Is there a way I can correct this on my garmin myself without having to wait on a map update for this to be corrected? Who do I need to inform of this 'fix' and how? The specific road is in Ajax,ON, Canada. The road is at Westney Rd. North / Telford Street & Searell Avenue / Telford Street. If you select a point there as your start and destination you will notice that it does not route you along Telford Street all the way....but diverts around another street to get back on to Telford Street.
Thanks in advance for anyone's contribution.

map fixes

Original garmin maps rather make it impossible to change anything as they have their own format for maps. It will be probably prohibited in agreement you accepted installing maps or buying device as well.
I have this type problems with routing in my area after last map update (2010.2).
Probably the only way is to notify garmin and maybe they will fix it with next update.
What interesting, when I check Nawteq maps (used by garmin) they are much better than - supposedly - this same maps installed on garmins (including updates).

Map Fixes.

Thanks much. I will probably have to notify them and hope they correct it in one of their global updates.
