I am ready!

Well, I just survived my second rafting trip down the Rouge River in Oregon.

What a ride!!!! We had so much fun. The kids both loved it and now we are going to float the Boise River when we get back.

It is great when the kids get old enough to do these fun outdoorsy sports.

The wind could have been blowing the other direction though, I felt like we were on a water treadmill.

Miss POI: Glad you and your family are having fun! I know Trail and Shady Cove well, and Grants Pass is my old home town...Just left there a couple weeks ago. You deserve this time off, but hope you get over your soreness soon. Enjoy the rest of your vacation!

At last...some heat in Buffalo, NY

The Twin Cities (MN) got their first 90+ degree day yesterday since June - went something like 59 days between 90+ degree highs.

If you go into Settings, Alerts, Morning, there is a checkbox for... Oh wait, never mind. I was thinking of something else.

I hadn't thought about that place in years. My wife and I took the jet mail boat trip up the rapids from gold Beach in 1990. I know... not the same as rafting, but it was a beautiful trip. Saw lots of wildlife and had a great lunch upriver. It was July and I was cold!

If I remember correctly when going across country. Oregon was the one state that wouldn't let the customer touch the gas pump to fill up their car.Been so long it felt like the old days of full service.

Yup that is right, if you jump out of your car and act like you are going to pump your own gas you are quickly but nicely redirected.

Today we are spending the day in Grants Pass OR visiting Jon's Aunt Nancy and Uncle Ray, who own and run Ray's Speedometer & Electric. He repairs Domestic, foreign and trucks. So if you are ever in need you can call him up. I will add him to the auto repair file also.

He is a great guy and loves to talk old cars.

I will be getting caught up with emails over the weekend after we get back to Crescent City.

You are in some beautiful country there.We really enjoyed it.Love the scenery out that way.

We were thinking of going there from Eugene Or, but are staying longer here. Then to Klamath Falls for a week then headed for Nv. Don't pump you own gas in Organ unless you are on a motorcycle from what they told me.

Had a question about how to delete favs from my Nuvi . . . actually Googled (sp?) and it led me to a POI Factory thread that answered my question in less than a minute. That's why this site is awesome!!!!!!

Attended 2 parties yesterday / 25 year aniversary party and college graduation party, both had same start times.
Started at one party for 2 hours then went to other for 3 1/2 hours then came back to other. I think it work out ok

Back at Grandma's house, it is nice and peaceful here. All the other families have departed and now I can get some work done.

First day back from vacation. Starting to dig out at work. Not looking forward to this week.

Family and I got a chance to catch the "rehearsal" of the Chicago Air & Water Show this past Friday. We got to North Avenue beach early enough to get a prime spot right in front of the water. But the water was so cold due to upwelling, or something like that, according to Tom Skilling (local meteorologist)!

Redskins not showing any spark either.
