Back from trip

Just drove form NW ohio to central PA and back this weekend. Beautiful scenery and was caught in a big storm that went through. Not really fun in the mountains.

Here

but on page two. Computer network problems earlier today!

Cyclone season

You can tell its August, the Atlantic is starting to stir and some Tropical Storms may be forming.

Same-o.....Same-o

Nothing new here in the high desert. Hot and no monsoon rains to cool it off.

Safe and happy week to all!

Golf, whenever and wherever you can ... Always swing hard, just in case you hit it ..... If you can reach it,you can hole it, SEE IT FEEL IT DO IT !

Hitting the road later this week toward East Tennessee and North Carolina. Nuvi 265wt all set and primed!!!

265WT

Been thinking about a 265WT. Any owners care to comment on likes and dislikes?

Other things aside

It's not rated for motorcycles so the audio would have to be hardwired to the helmet. Vibration could be a problem and it needs to be protected from weather.

Another use for Mapsource

Started tracking positions of Tropical Depression 2 on Mapsource and doing routing - gives me "crow's fly" distance to our pad and also gives me distance travelled and track between reports.
Kind of fun for an "OLD" hurricane tracker like me. Been tracking them since the mid-50's.
Rode out a Cat III (Daisy) on a Navy destroyer in 1958. Was interesting to say the least.

Living on the East Coast of Flor-i-duh we do keep an Eagles eye out !

This weather is killing me...

It is way too hot.

Hot - Hot !!

103 Yesterday, only 91 today (what a relief).

The heat isn't as bad as I would imagine the water is for Taiwan. 80 inches in 2 days!! Are you kidding me? Lots of people lost in mud slides. Hope they find most of them alive.

Hope we get more rain this coming year. 3 years of drought in a row is enough for me. Bring on the rain!!

Everyone have a safe and happy week.

Someone's got a case of the

Someone's got a case of the Mondays... except it's Tuesday today

Hi again

Lost a dear friend to cancer, haven't gotten back into the swing of things, but wanted to say hi to my POI friends.

Camping

Jon and I were camping in the Red Wood Forest last night and I have just returned to civilization to get caught up on some work and blow up a spammer from the site.

Sorry about the delay, I usually wipe them out within an hour of posting.

Miss POI

kept getting log out

Hi all,

Hoping everyone having a good day. Does anyone having problem where this website kept log you out. For example, after I login, I post a message on one forum thread, then I view other threads and tried to post another message but it kept asking me to login again. I also noticed that happened to when I download one POI file, then download another POI file, it kept asking to re-login. I'm using the same browser session.

My setup is Windows XP Pro SP3 with IE8

Thanks

You're Entitled To A Vacation

I just tried what you described and had no problem - I did not get logged out.

My setup is WinXP Pro SP3 with IE7 (not IE8). Have you installed the 11 critical microsoft updates that were released yesterday? I have not. I am waiting to hear some more feedback from another forum before I do the updates. I've been burned before by Microsoft updates and do not let them install automatically.

POI Factory staff is on vacation

I just published this week's update for the red light camera and speed camera files.

There are not many changes, it is just too difficult for me to do my research and updates on vacation.

I usually try to keep up with my work but this year I am going to enjoy my vacation.

I am staying in a small house with a slow internet connection with 6 kids under the ages of 7 and 8 adults.

Trying to work under these conditions might put me in the nut house.

Miss POI

Take a break

and enjoy your time off miss poi. You deserve it.

roosters

tv does not realistically depict the true nature of Roosters.

Roosters do not just crow once to let you know that it is morning.

They make that noise for at least an hour.

Yup I am a city girl.

Miss POI

The Roosters do that

The Roosters do that so that you will get up and milk their friends, the cows !

Oh, you city folks !

265wt likes

Was on the FDR south bound off Third ave bridge. Traffic alert showed green. But was congested. Friend raced down 2nd ave as a challedge. I loved the 265wt cuz it was right, traffic was just for a moment. Saved me 15 min not to go off coarse. Good for crowded NYC.

Pressed Amazon buy it for Nuvi 780

Well I have to say buying an auto GPS is way more difficult than I imagined it would be.

I spent the last week researching and just a few minutes ago bought the 780. Daunting...the choices are.

I joined up here today after finding a link from somewhere...grabbed quite a number of POI files getting ready for the 780's arrival.

Glad to be here.

Welcome to the site

Welcome to the site schwert.I see you are already hooked on the custom pois .Have fun and if you run into any problems just post and the members will be glad to help you out.

Thanks

Thanks Charlie. There is a ton here to read and the POI files are vast.

I have used Garmin handheld GPS units for a long time but never had one of the navigators. It should be interesting to see what happens here in Seattle with the MSN service and the custom POI files I intend on loading.

Now just waiting on Amazon....

We done a cross country trip

We done a cross country trip a few years back and really enjoyed the Seattle area.Plan to go back again.

The real fun is when you start making your own custom poi files and posting them on the site.
