Off to the Black Hills

Well, come this Saturday morning (7/25) the wife and I are on vacation. We're taking a road trip from Cleveland to the Black Hills of South Dakota. I have a motorcycle convention (no, not Sturgis) in Dradwood the following Tuesday through Friday so we're going to play tourist on our way out, and hustle back on the return trip. Unfortunately we'll be on four wheels, not two because of our time constraints.

"Jack" is loaded with a route and the locations of all the places we want to see. Saturday night we'll be outside of Madison, WI and first thing Sunday morning we'll be visiting the House on the Rock in Spring Green, WI. The place is a hoot and should be on everyone's bucket list! Sunday evening we'll be somewhere in western MN or eastern SD. In the next couple of days we'll hit the Corn Palace in Mitchell, the Badlands, Wall Drug and finally wind up in Lead, SD at the hotel hosting the gathering. Between meetings and club events, we'll catch Devil's Tower in WY, Custer Syae Park (the Spires and Needle Highway are awesome), the Crazy Horse Monument, most of the casinos in Deadwood and of course Mt. Rushmore. We'll make the obligatory stop in Sturgis to buy tee-shirts and see the town before all hell breaks loose the following week.

That Friday morning we hit the road early and will be home Saturday evening. I've been to the Black Hills a couple of times, but my wife never has. It will be great to watch her as she sees those sights for the first time.

Yee-haaaaa!

Garmin 765T...Is it about the destination, or is it about the journey?

Love that area

You're going to love that trip. I was stationed at Ellsworth AFB twice in Rapid City so got to spend time all over the Black Hills plus making the trip across I-90 to WI to visit family. We've been to every place you mentioned and hope to make it back someday.
