POI Behavior in Different Nuvi Modles

Hello,
Since my 765T bricked thanks to Garmin's latest fiasco, I had to send it in to have them fix it, so I was in need of a GPS to use for a meeting and borrowed my daughter's Garmin 265WT. She didn't have any POIs in it so I installed my POIs into her unit. On my 765WT, the POIs will speak the .MP3 files, such as "ATM ahead, etc. But on her 265WT, with the same POIs, I was just getting the "bong" alert sound. Do the custom sounds only work on certain models, or is there a setting I need to change in her unit to get the voice sound of the .MP3 file?

IIRC, the lower level nuvi
IIRC, the lower level nuvi models will only recognize wav files.
You will need to convert the mp3 files to wav format. Audacity (freeware) is typically suggested.

you need
SOX.EXE as well. This program must be placed in the same program files folder as POILoader.exe. This program will allow the WAV files to be played as alert sounds. Using WAV files for alerts with your 7 series stops the MP3 playback skip problem as well.
