Device Temperature

I noticed several times after using my Nuvi for over an hour its a bit warm when I take if off the mount. Other times is relatively normal-not warm at all. I am wondering if I am having an issue with overheating. Any thoughts on device temperature?

Do you have it mounted by the windshield? The black case of my 755T gets very hot on a sunny day, but stays fairly cool at night or on a cloudy day.

Yes you are correct. its mounted by the windshield. Thats my observation pretty much. In the nights and evenings device is cooler. However I think on cooler days occasionally it gets warmer during the days too.I will see what happens when I start using the air condition.

My NUVI 360 gets warm while charging in a 12v socket, and down right hot if it is used in direct sunlight. Best is to use a Proclip solution to mount it to the dashboard and somewhat out of the sun.

Bean bag mount
I use a bean bag mount and my unit doesn't get too hot.

I ordered a vent mount through Amazon.com for under $5. and free shipping.
Apart from the fact that I have to adapt to glancing sideways to view the screen, it is kept out of sight of thieves (last 760 stolen) and does not challenge any state laws for blocking windshield view, and it keeps it out of the sunlight.
