Magellan map updates - refurb unit

Has anyone been successful getting a free map update from Magellan on the new purchase of a refurbished GPS? I just ordered a 4050 for my wife and I have heard that the refurbs often come with older map data.
Nope
They have not been willing too. Most likely your unit will have the 2007 maps on them. There are now two updates since then.
Can't hurt to try
I guess I'll give them a call. All they can say is no.
