Garmin Vehicle Manager

Here is a little application that will let you view/transfer the Garmin Vehicle Files (SRF) to and from your Garmin.
- Search for you Garmin manually, or click on the
button with a 'G' in it to have the program search
for the stock folder ("/Garmin/Vehicle") on all
available drives starting with "D:"

- Each vehicle is represented on a card that includes
the 0-degree 3d view of the vehicle, and some other
data.

- Right-click a vehicle card and select 'Preview
Vehicle' to see what it will look like on the
Garmin 760.

- Drag and Drop vehicles from one location to the
other

- Right-Click and select 'Delete Vehicle' to delete
the vehicle file.

Right now the only Garmin used in the preview is the 760, cause that's all I had a picture of and the only one that is useful to me smile If you want me to add your Garmin as a preview, send me:
1) a good pic of your Garmin in 3D map mode
2) the SRF file for the vehicle seen in the above pic
3) The stock folder for that model of Garmin where
the SRF files are kept.

Raptrflite:

When I tried to copy over the files and start program, I got this massage
“Component ‘ItemCard.ocx’ or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid’.

Did a uninstall and reinstall.

After sort (up or down) on Garmin side Vehicles and names don’t match, if you pick one to Preview, Vehicle will match name. If you do a Refresh, Vehicle picture and name will match. Computer side works fine.

Select All or Select None gives a “Run-time error ‘340’ Control array element ‘5’ doesn’t exist” on both sides. Click OK program will crash.

Copy from side to side OK

Delete from each side OK

Looks like just upgrading

Looks like just upgrading parts isn't gonna work because the OCX needs registered.

I'll look into the errors... I tested that thing 1000 different ways and didn't see any of those errors... sad

I found the errors and

I found the errors and corrected them. SOOO many things to debug, it's really hard to find everything!

If you installed the version I put out earlier today, you can just download the new EXE file from:
http://sites.google.com/site/raptorbase/Home/VehicleManager_...

Otherwise, you'll need to get this and do a full install so that Installshield takes care of the OCX registration.
http://sites.google.com/site/raptorbase/Home/GarminVehicleMa...

Oh, and I found out that the Installshield update thing it was installing was actually a checkbox I needed to uncheck in IS. I don't have this program able to update over the web, so that part wasn't necessary.

The sort still has problems. When I sort Garmin side (First time only a-z or z-a) the first 7 are correct. The rest, Vehicle and name don’t match. On some the original Vehicle picture is gone and replaced with one from the group. Preview is the same.
Other problems are gone.

Hang in there.

Some days you're the bug, Some days you're the windshield!!

Works with my...

765T.

Version 052709b

works with my Nuvi 260. It took a while to detect the device drive, but it found it and everything works great.

I loaded 418 icons from the PC, without problems. Memory wise, it spiked while scanning but dropped down back to the same level once the folder was scanned.

It does all I needed it to do. You deserve some rest, for a job well done.

Now if you want to release it, when your ready, I have some suggestions for improvments, only if you're open to them.

Simon

a version worked better than b version

w/ XP SP3, the 5/27 'a' version was working fine - thought I might have missed something so I downloaded the 'b' version. Got the .ocx error each time with the 'b' so I re-installed the 'a' version and things are smooth again....

Screen Resolution

Quality application - it really makes my life that little bit easier! Not that it was too hard in the first place you will understand!

One issue I have though, if I install the App on my work Laptop (which I shouldn't do apparently!), it works perfectly, however, if I try and install it on my personal Laptop - a Samsung NC10 Netbook - it refuses to install as it say the screen resolution is set too low - the resolution is set as high as it can go, but being a netbook, its got a diddy screen!

Is there any way of reducing the required resolution of the Application so I can install it? All my other Garmin apps are installed and running on this PC, so it makes sense to keep everything together!

Thanks

my nuvi 265w will no longer move the icons i downloaded

i tried to view the garmin garage downloads i put in my nuvi, accidentally making them appear as adobe. i feared the new gps was not staying charged long because of too many icons and wanted to remove some.

i accidentally removed the original 2 vehicles. and i think they had something imbedded to help all icons move. now none will.

can i get this fixed?

can i get a download of the original files for the 2 vehicles?

SLOW DOWN!

KittyKathy,

Do us all a favor and slow DOWN. Cross posting the same question to multiple forums is counter productive and begins to tick people off. Give us a chance to look at your problem and suggest a remedy before firing off another version of the same question in a different thread.

Expect nothing!, appreciate benignity!

then there are too many angry people online!

you see it one way.

if you are "ticked off because i am needing help and asking on more than one board because then more people can read it...about 5 places...then all that does is make more grief in my world.

i said i appreciate help.

please try to look at this in my point of view before getting mad at me for asking many people for assitance.

Posting Same Question muti times

As a_user stated posting the same question in different post doesn't help. You are not posting to different boards, your posting to the same board just diffenet thread titles. Give eveyone a chance here and they will help you out. neutral

Garmin vehicle Icons

kittykathy,
On mu Nuvi 770 I deleted all the vehicles in the vehicle folder (I wanted to start over fresh). The Nuvi "recreated" the blue triangle and the one vehicle was in the folder. Then I installed to the Nuvi individual vehicles from Garmin Garage and Vehicles For Garmin Nivi.
So if you deleted all your vehicles, maybe your 265W will recreate at least one original vehicle, and it should move.
I think you might have a different problem other than your vehicle problem. Did you delete any files from any other folders besides vehicles?
If you delete your startup screen it is also recreated.
Also, double check your language setting. My Nuvi sometimes decides to not have a language and I have to tell it which language to use. Also check to make sure it is not muted, or on fm transmitter( if you have fm transmitter).
When you power up your Nuvi it will perform system checks and defragment it's memory. If you turn it on and it takes it a while to start up, just let it run for a few minutes. This will allow it time to restore files it finds corrupted.
Post back and keep us informed, but you only need to post it once and the poi-factory people will try to help you as much as they can.

You're Wrong

The simple fact is that you are wrong for posting the same issue in multiple threads. You should apologize. But since you are unwilling to do so, I am unwilling to help you.

there are anger management groups that can help.

i am sorry for anyone who can't understand what a new person to a site may accidentally do.

you don't have to help me, or anyone for that matter.

who said i was "unwilling"...you may be projecting some issues...i never said i wouldn't appologize for not knowing.

KittyKathy,

I am truly sorry for the rude treatment that you found here. No new member deserves to be treated the way you were.

I hope that the older members will be more polite in the future when new people come asking questions.

Is there a working link where I can get the Garmin Vehicle Manager from?
All links in this post are dead/broken.

Thanks!

Funny, I was just looking

Funny, I was just looking for this today because the version I have does not seem to like Windows 7!! His main page seems to have some links: http://sites.google.com/site/raptorbase/Home
Looks like the original version talked about in this thread, so it probably won't help me, but maybe it will help you.
