I just wondered if you have a LARGE POI file (and I have no idea how large), would it help the GPS be more efficient if one sorted the file, say buy latitude and then longitude (or vice-versa)?
Thanks,

I don't know the answer, but suspect that the sorting is taking place when the file is converted with POI Loader. However, just to be safe, I sorted all of the files created by The Radio Guys and the two other files I posted by longitude and then latitude before posting.

No good, which sort order..? you will need to sort this by the Road Long and Lat coordinates in order for this to make any sense
Thanx BiLL Solomon
Sorry, didn't understand your comment.

Don't think it would make a difference

I don't think it would make a difference. I think once the POI Loader makes the file on your GPSr it's the same no matter how it started..
.
No difference

The GPS efficiency won't matter on how it's sorted in the loaded file. Your gps unit will "sort" on it's own to always show you the 50 locations that are nearest to your present location.
