Will We See a Rugged GPS Smartphone in the Near Future?

As I was looking this evening at the Garmin Nuvifones http://www.garminasus.com/garminasu...lang/en/welcome and they are starting to show up on websites even thought they are not available yet. I was wondering if we might ever see a ruggedized, water resistant GPS smartphone. Think the Garmin Nuvifone, but rugged like a Garmin Nuvi 500 https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=134&pID=13424 Or another analogy might be a hybrid between the Motorola Tundra VA76R http://www.motorola.com/consumers/US-EN/Motorola-Tundra-VA76...

, Casio G'zOne Boulder, http://www.casiogzone.com/boulder/ or Motorola Nextel i580 http://www.motorola.com/consumers/US-EN/i580-US-EN.do?vgnext... with a smartphone. I realize not everybody wants or needs a ruggedized, waterproof, smartphone, but I want one!

Short answer?

Short answer?
NO.

I've been a fan of the blackberry 7520.
Its a TANK!!
Heck..I had one..it when thru hell and back.. kept on ticking.
I finally killed one when I dropped it in a HOT TUB.
It fell off my hip..couldnt find it for 5 minutes. Decided to look in the tub..found it.
It actually worked for a few more minutes before it got 'stoopid'. It worked..but was royally boned.

Other phones..You look at em wrong and they break.

I now have a 8350i (Ya..I have to have the PTT stuff).
It seem like one drop of 6 inches off the ground will kill it.

So... in my opinion, they crappier they make em, the more the morons will pay to replace em.
(I wish I could FIND a SOLID phone..)
