Bread crumbs

You know that feature in some Garmin GPS receivers that drops "bread crumbs" on the road to mark where you have been? What does Garmin call that feature?

I am trying to find a Garmin GPS that has that feature, but I don't know what to look for in the GPS specifications.

Try looking for a track log.

Check Garmin's "on the trail" products

My first gps was Garmin's GPSMap 60CSx. They call it a "mapping handheld" and it has the feature you describe. I looked at the products called "basic handheld" and the feature list says those do not have mapping. Hope this helps!

I think it is available in

I think it is available in most model I have the low end Nuvi 200w and an old hand-held gpsmap 76 and both of them have that feature

Trip Log to Mapsource

Trip logs are saved in Favorites file current.gpx. You can send to Mapsource from GPSr (or drag and drop gpx file into Mapsource). Tracks (and Waypoints) are listed in left pane. You can click on tracks or waypoints to display in map (may display automatically). You can create waypoints associated with Tracks and send back to GPSr (shows in Favorites) or save as gpx file and create custom POIs with POI Loader.
