New user Using the Garmin c530

if you put your model number into our search database feature at that top it will pull up all of the discussions that we have had about it. When I just tried it I got a large amount of data.

For POI creation I am using Google Earth and Microsoft Excel to create the csv files (have not really had the time to get too far into this)...you upload using the POI loader from Garmin.

You can update the maps but, typically, you have to pay Garmin for the updated versions.

I have yet to see a device that tells you you are going too fast other than a police cruiser and radar I know in the old days some cars allowed you to manually set a pointer on your speedometer and it would buzz when you hit it...I am not aware of this function on the 530

After doing some searches and just reading the topics ( and even d/led some of the cvs files to play with.) I find this is a real good place to learn and share ideas and comments. I will be using this site alot in the future.

Read in one of the messages about getting the DVD to do waypoints and other things, called Germin and requested the DVD, they are sending it free just like the other users here.. If anyone does that, make sure you talk to a Tech and not a sales person.

I called 12 days ago and was told I would receive it last week, but I have not yet. I'll give them a couple more days before trying again.

How does one find your e-mail.. wanted to ask you a few questions but could not find your Email..

If you click on the members user name, you might see
a "view" "track" and "contact" tab.

However, the user must check the personal contact option under their edit tab to enable the "contact" option.

Apparently Robert F. Breuning currently does not accept personal contact.

I am also a new user and finding the C530 very easy to use. Downing POI's from this site is a cake walk.

Looking forward to get alot more information from this site.
