Express Way Poi???

The entrances and exits should already be programmed in the map software. My Nuvi shows upcoming exits when I'm 1 mile away and the entrance ramps are shown in gray on the screen.

Say if i'm at my house and want to know where the nearest entrance is, how do i look it up on the poi list on the unit???

If you're looking for the nearest expressway entrance, we would assume that you are ultimately going somewhere beyond the entrance.

Just pick a location and it will route you to the nearest expressway entrance that goes in the direction that you want.

To do that, you would need a custom POI file. As a default, if you enter a destination that could utilize a freeway / express way, the unit will automatically select the closest entrance, provided that you have "Fastest Time" selected in the Tools menu.

Yea i understand that part, so should i assume their is no custom file so i can know about specific entrances wherever i am??

Considering how many entrances and exits just for the Interstate, that would be enormous undertaking.

While you're at it, have you considered making a POI file for all traffic lights in your state?

This may not answer your question but, you can enter a destination, hit GO and after the route calculation is finished just hit the top bar on your nuvi and it will tell you the distance to the turns and to the expressway on your route.

true....it would be an enourmous amount of space for all the entrances and exits. Anyways, thanks guys..
