Downloading GPX files to a nuvi 260

I am trying to download a gpx file from EveryTrail to my Nuvi 260. I have installed the Garmin Communicator. When I download the file to either the SD card or the Garmin GPX file, it disappears after I disconnect from the unit. Where am I going wrong?

POI Loader app

Have you tried using the POI Loader application to send the GPX file to your Custom POI section?

Where is it you want the file to show up exactly?

You can go to
http://www8.garmin.com/products/poiloader/ to download the poiloader.

1.Make folder on your computer and call it My Pois
2.Download the gpx file and put it the My Pois folder.
3.Hook Gps to computer with usb cable.
4.Run Poiloader and direct it to My Pois folder and not the gpx file and follow the instructions.
5.Should get message so my pois loaded.
6.When complete go to where to on gps,my locations, extras and touch custom pois and you should see the file.

To the OP, your nuvi does not have the ability to store tracks or routes. If that is what is contained in the files you are downloading from that site, you won't be able to see them on your nuvi.

Otherwise, if the files have WAYPOINTS in them, they will (should) show up under your Favorites on your nuvi.
