MP3 music on SD Card

Hello everybody,

A little technical questions for all of you, garmin specialists or MP3 music fans.

I have many differents types of songs on a SD Card that I use on my garmin 660. Many of those songs had been downloaded without any inscription in the properties in the type/style field (Rock, Disco, Techno, etc.).

Does anybody know a way I can correct this situation and add a "type" to some of my MP3 selections. I'm sure that there is a way, a programm, that I can use to open them and correct this situation and re-save them back on my SD Card.

This will help when time to make a search by "Type /Style". Sorry, I'm not quite sure if I use the correct word for the "Type/Style", on my french version it says "GENRE".........

Thanks for your help

.

In the US, it says GENRE as well. smile

If you right click on the song (using your computer) and click on Properties, then click the Details tab, you can click and enter whatever Genre you want in the details section.

.

If, by any chance, you use or would consider using iTunes to organize your music on your computer, all of the tags (genre, artist, album, etc) are viewable under Info.

Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.

Create a playlist

You can use MS Windows Media Player and create a Playlist using a .m3u extension.

MP3 Tag Tools

This program is alright. It's not the best, but it's free.

MediaMonkey

You may want to check out the free MediaMonkey program. http://www.mediamonkey.com/

One of the problems with using Windows Media Player is that WMP does not save album art to the ID3 tag. Instead, WMP keeps album art in folders. This can create problems if you try to transfer your music to portable devices.

Ok Thanks !!!

Ok Thanks !!!

yet another

I use the freeware Audio Shell

http://www.softpointer.com/AudioShell.htm

you can edit the ID3 tags and include album art.

simple, seamless and easy to use. After it's installed, find an audio file, right click, then click on properties and you'll see the additional audio shell tabs, then edit the fields.
