mp3 files too loud

I have downloaded some mp3 files for the POI and some mp3 levels are recorded at a high volume and it puts the Garmin at the max level when it plays.
I have to choose the proper mp3 to go with the POI file.

You can lower the volume by processing the .mp3 file through AudaCity, then re-exporting the adjusted .mp3 to the former folder. Then, of course, use POI Loader to re-load.

AudaCity is free and is highly recommended.

where this problem is discussed. The major problem isn't that the volume is high (it can be easily lowered with any wave/mp3 editor), it's that the voice file is recorded at such a high volume level that the file is distorted.

Normalize those Files

I'am thinking you want to Normalize the files in your music directory, so they all have the same levels to start with.

That's what was done in the http://www.poi-factory.com/node/16796#comment-85601
link above; except when the audio file is already recorded into distortion, all that is normalized is 'distortion'. The voice files need to be recorded without distortion, and verified, before they are posted. Once distortion is recorded into these sound files, it's difficult (many times impossible) to remove.
