700xx version 3.0 to 3.10

Is anyone having problems with this most recent update? I just updated my 760 from 3.0 to 3.10 but have not tested it yet? If there is a probelm with 3.10 how do you go back to 3.0?

Thanks.

ps: No, I did not back my system up.

Update

I updated my 750 and have had no problems...To go back to the old version I am not sure. Probably have to call Garmin and they would direct you to a file somewhere on their website.

I also updated my 7xx but have not tested it...

But I did back it up prior to updating, which is always a good idea. But monday a.m. quarterbacking will not help you, but this will:

You can dowonload previous versions...

edit: scroll down to the 760 3.0

nuvi760_300.exe Is this what I'm looking for? Would I download it and hook up the Garmin and it would download into the Garmin?

I don't understand this post. You've already updated, and you didn't back up. You've posted before you have even turned on your GPS with the new version yet? Turn it on, do a simulation, and if it works then you are probably good.

Yes that is the previous version. No it won't install it unless you want it to.

You would download it (save it) to your computer, then if you want to go back to the previous version, you attach your 760 to your computer with a usb cable and then run the version that you downloaded... It will then load it to your 760.

Do it automatically? Or do I have to go into my computer??

No issues here

Update

No problems on my 750.

As I said..

rpm4 wrote:

You have to hook your garmin to your computer, and then run 760_300.exe. It will then install version 3.00 on your garmin, just follow the prompts..

But only run the 760_300.exe if you want to go back to the previous version.

I personally am staying with the 3.10 update unless a problem arises...

I Have Issues With The 3.10 update

I have issues with the 3.10 update on my 750.

There was a thread started earlier here about
the screen freezing if your unit was powered up
near a POI with alerts.

The screen froze and went black.

I went back to version 3

The power-up problem reported in an earlier thread was with Version 3.00 in my case.

Thanks Bstpm for pointing that out.

Thanks Bstpm,
So how is version 3.10 working for you ?

Still using 3.00

I am still using 3.00. I have no urgent need to upgrade. It sounds like the POI lockup problem has not been fixed with 3.1, so I will wait a bit before upgrading.

I'm going to wait for a while too !

Thanks again Bstpm,
I went back to version 3.

I had never had my 750 lock up and black out
like it did with version 3.10

I think I'll wait a while before I try and upgrade
again.
