Just the usual case, once holiday (Memorial Day) is around the corner, gas prices start inching up. It will drop after the holiday. Just a way for oil companies to reach into our already empty pockets.

Lengthy Thread

This is an interesting thread to track. It actually started about the middle of last year with fairly regular price postings. It gets picked up every once in awhile (most recent after lying dormant a couple of weeks) with additional updates. Prices have gone up and down through the months.

For the record the latest Lundberg report released yesterday found the least expensive gasoline was in Phoenix with the average at $1.99. The most expensive was in Chicago around $2.60 for regular.

Lundberg says having millions of people unemployed and not commuting to/from work each day is actually holding supplies up and prices down. A lot of the increase is due to rapidly rising prices for ethanol. Darn greedy corn growers. wink

ohio gas

I live near a gas trasfer station in Ohio and it is currently running upwards of $2.50 per gallon. So Cal doesn't seem so high as last year, relatively.

Gas price

In Quebec the price is 1.054 a litter, some time it comes down to .984.

Usual Memorial Day Price Gasoline Price Hike

Gas prices in East Tennessee to $2.15 per gallon for unleaded regular. Prices always increase this time of year, probably so that the oil companies can pad their pockets while taking advantage of Memorial Day and early summer vacationers.

Climbing fast

Seeing 2.50 here.. Gotta love the summer prices

OKC

2.09 to 210 here in Oklahoma City.

Congress should investigate now. Oil high was 2 1/3 times this price, but gas is over 50% of the high.

Ever source oil usage is down for the rest of the year, but oil prices are going up for June delivery. crazy

Whatever the current price

Whatever the current price is, it's certainly much better than it was a year ago. It's around $2.60ish where I live. I won't be surprised if it keeps going up to $3. Hopefully it comes back down to low US$2/gallon after the Memorial Day. I certainly hate to pay what the Canadians and Europeans are paying.

I paid $1.41/litre

I paid $1.41/litre ($5.34/gal) for the premium stuff on Monday. The SRT-4 won't handle anything less.

Price in Israel

During this business trip, gas has been averaging $5.66 per gallon. And that's with a good exchange rate. Last summer it was 7.98!

Gouge Again this Week

Gas has gone up .10 this week in one jump. There is no doubt that this is so the oil companies can line their pockets at the expense of consumers.

Yep... prices going kind of crazy

I was just getting ready to submit my gas receipts on my expense report... what a jump....

On 5/5 - $1.89 a gal
On 5/13 - $2.13 a gal
On 5/26 - $2.24 a gal

All of these in the Dallas / Ft. Worth area. Most stations are $2.29 to $2.38 a gal. I was lucky to find the $2.24 a gal this morning.

But, as they say, it is still not as bad as it was this same time last year. But it sure was nice having the sub $2.00 gas prices.

My wish didn't come true.

My wish didn't come true. The Memorial Day weekend is long gone but gas continues to rise, nearing $3/gal. Oil companies are at it again. Last year when gas price was at its peak, they said it's the law of supply and demand that caused it to rise.

A lot of small, medium and large companies have gone bankrupt. Life is tough everywhere. Where's the demand now? I wonder what other excuse they have this time.

And the price is.....

$2.58 in Lexington, KY today.

Gas Prices

Here in Texas prices are still going up. The best price in my area is about $2.50/gal.
Another disturbing thing is there are reports that at some stations the percent ethanol exceeds 10% and is causing about $1500 worth of damage to the engine and fuel system. One radio commentator is collecting data and has found that Racetrack, QT, and Walmart have had the most problems. Of course, this may be because they sell the most gas. The excess ethanol is not necessarily intentional, since ethanol doesn't mix well with gasoline.

In Tucson the range seems to be $2.19 to $2.37

In Tucson the range seems to be $2.19 to $2.37 for regular unleaded at the normal stations. Costco and frys may be lower. We normally always seem to be near the low end of prices in the nation.

Silicon Valley--

Filled up my Mini Cooper this morning -- it uses premium (91+) and I only use Top Tier gas.

The good news, such as it is -- $3.65/gal for Chevron Supreme. The station I frequent is in the low end of the local price range (go two blocks and pay 20 cents more per gallon).

Even better news, the petro market is doing more to harass Emperor Putin than the so-called sanctions; Putin's economy needs oil prices around $109/barrel, and they're currently around $82.

Filled up in Chico, CA yesterday. It was $2.99 for regular and it seemed quite a "bargain". How sad.

I AM LOVING IT

I filled my tank today. The regular price was $2.83.9 but with my points from grocery purchases it brought it down to $2.63.9.
When I got home I saw on the TV from another network that the business reporter on Fox Business report had announced that these low gas prices were bad for the economy. If this was true then I hope the economy tanks. PS, I do not believe this idiot.
