Gas prices

Last week I filled my truck at $1.43/gallon for regular in Laurel, MD. Three days later at the same station the price was up to $1.69! Amazing how the prices rise so rapidly yet fall so slowly. The gasoline companies keep telling us that it is all market driven - NOT! I don't believe that for one second.

Gas is about $1.80 in central Ohio. Was close to $1.50 a few weeks ago.

Looks like gas is headed up even though oil is going back down after that little jump up. I guess they'll spin that some way, probable say something about a lag time.... yeah going down, never seen a lag in it going up

Prices creeping up filled up at 1.70

Paid $1.59 on Wednesday for regular gas. Diesel is 2.10. Paid $1.65 today for regular. SIX CENTS IN TWO DAYS! Something's not right about this picture.

here, it just went from $1.69 (this morning) to $1.85 (this evening). That's a low jump. Normally, it jumps like 20 cents. Luckily I filled up in the AM.

Here in Phoenix we're paying on average $1.89. That's about $0.40 higher than 5 weeks ago, and yeah, the explanation is "because of the Flying J bankruptcy". It doesn't matter that all storage reservoirs are full.

Even less than 5 weeks ago. I filled up at $1.49/gal one day, it was like $1.65 at the same station two days later. I would've thought it was just a temporary sale if it wasn't happening all over town.

Here we go again. Over 2 dollars a gallon in Staten Island. CNBC even said that there was no reason for the gas hike. Is George still in office?

Paid $1.81 on Sunday in Northern Illinois
The price went to $1.95 on Wednsday - today it's $1.91
How much longer will it stay under $2.00 here?

Filled up Sunday @ 1.58.9/gal. Now it's 1.68.9. Ten cents in four days. We'll see $2/gal before end of February.

On Feb 5th in St. Louis, MO unleaded regular is $1.76.

Here in our part of the UP it's $2.10 near us, $2.04 in Marquette, and $1.99 in Ishpeming as of yesterday.

at $1.78 per gallon spiked up to 2.00 then back to where we are.

for unleaded in Phoenix if you now where to go, most places in the high $1.90's.

However, go to www.gasbuddy.com that site has prices for everywhere in the country and it's updated by the users mutliple times a day.

Was in NYC yesterday. $2.39/gal for regular. Cross into NJ, $1.71/gal for regular. Amazing the difference a state border line makes.

Costco price yesterday was 1.67

$1.57 unleaded Oklahoma

oklahoma city it is $1.76 and that is up 20 cents from last week.

80 miles makes a difference [$1.57 Enid]

$2.39/gal in NYC? I haven't seen that, although I been in the city much the past couple of weeks. The prices on Long Island have stabilized (and even come back down a few cents) in the past week or two. I can find it at most mainstream places for just over $2/gal ($2.03, $2.05) with a few small places back under $2.

NJ has lower taxes on gas, hence the lower prices, but they make up for it elsewhere, besides, you know, having to live in New Jersey }:-)

And to make this GPS related - I often travel to Pennsylvania, and have "Rt 46 Last Chance Gas" as favorite that I hit before the bridge back into NYC.

US average today is 1.9 US$/Gall. We pay 6.4 US$/Gallon in Denmark. Still happy!

$1.83 at Exxon is good price to me here.
Costco has lower price but long line.

Now the state of utah wants to raise the gas tax because they are losing money because people have cut back on their driving so they want it both ways.

I just bought $25 dollars worth of gas tonight ($0.904/ltr). Here is the break down of the price.
Federal Excise Tax $2.77
Provincial Fuel Tax $4.62
GST $1.74
PST $1.74
Total Taxes $10.24
No wonder the politicians don't want the price of gas to come down. $14.76 worth of gas becomes $25.

Just filled up 1.77, creeping up.

Had it at NJ for 1.67, regular.

My latest fill up price 1.87

On a recent trip through TN, GA, AL, and MS we paid from $1.74 to $1.98 for name brand (BP and Exxon) unleaded gasoline.

The BP stations around Montgomery County MD are around 5 to 9 cents more than other brands. An Exxon may be advertising regular at $1.98 and the BP is $2.05 less than a block away.

Prices here range from $1.95 to $2.20 depending on where you're at. Some out-of-the-way spots are at both high and low range. No way to anticipate. As with most places they seem fluctuate without regard to common sense.

Frustrating to all of us.

$2.30 in seattle and now they're discussing a state income tax since gas tax is down.. oh joy!

Diesel about 2.10. I think unleaded is 1.90. Big increase from month ago when diesel was 1.86 and unleaded was 1.69.

The iphone has a few nice apps to check gas prices around your location.

In Illinois the gas prices have been steadily increasing ~$2.25 for regular at Shell. Speaking of Shell, what is with this "Nitrogen" enriched fuel they're selling?

We have $2.39 regular in our neighborhood. No problem, I can find gas stations in another area as cheap as $1.89 a gallon.

Prices have to go up because of the rise in demand next weekend. They always go up before a holiday.

We all know this can't be good, these oil company's have been looking since they lost the $4.00 a gallon edge to raise their profits. And with a slow hurricane season last year I guess they will jump on this fire.

THE PRESIDENTIAL election is over, so the price of gas doesn't matter, But it should.

Now here is the killer, it's number 39 out of 150 operable refineries, oh yeah bend over everyone welcome to summer.

Prices here range from $1.99 to $2.20 depending on where you're at. In my little piece of heaven it's $2.09. Can't wait to see where it stops.

So Cal gas is around $2.50-- goes up about 5 cents a week-- getting ready for the Summer rush-- when the weather cools off, they will raise again for the Winter fuel.
