Was that article praising

Was that article praising the site or mocking it?

Nice.

Please and thank you for letting me be apart of this community.

Has to be praise!

I thought the article was praise and wonder if the author has a unit that he uses? If he doesn't then it's his loss and not ours. Keep up the great work Miss Poi

Distraction?

I think all the locations provided on POI factory are a invaluable tool! smile

He's Bitter...

I think he's just bitter about everything. I think it's a little of both. A little praise and a little hatred. You know some people do not like technology and what it has brough to our lives. Some people like the simple things that we are getting away from, so because of that they tend to talk bad about things that could make others happy. They just don't like change.

Thank You Miss POI, I love this site.

Mocking

It's easy for people to mock things they don't know anything about.

I agree with you thrak

No Mockery intended

I like this article, it is a bit funny. I see no mockery in it at all guys.

You should go back and look at some of his other top 10 lists.

This gentleman called the other day to see what our top ten files were. This is a compliment that he picked our community to feature in his piece.

I feel honored that our top ten files were shown. This is a Canadian News site and it may be really great for bringing more Canadians to the POI Factory.

Miss POI

Yeah

I think more than anything he's prickly about the marginalization of things Canadian. He's pointing up the humor but not anything meanspirited about the site itself. And we do have people regularly confessing to POI addictions.

whatever the intention...

It is publicity for the site. There was no need to pay for the "insert." I hope more from above the 49th visit the site.

Artical

I think overall he was saying good things about POI-Factory. any time they meniton a site it brings more attention to it.

Just Like Show Biz

It is just like they (the proverbial they, and just who are they?) say in Show Biz

"Even bad publicity is still publicity"

This is not only a News site; the Globe and Mail is a national newspapers published in Toronto. The article certainly appeared in the newspaper also. So the publicity should be good.

Besides, being "mocked" by Canadians is a bit of a compliment anyhow.

With their amazing politeness and sense of humor, I love being "mocked" by my Canadian friends. wink

They also have great beer. mrgreen

Hahahaha, good article

As a Canadian, I can't say, I see this article as mocking the POI-Factory in any way. I wouldn't even say it's pointing an accusatory finger at GPS devices as being "dangerous" distractions. Poking a little fun at POI's for bogging down the family road-trip with side-stops, yes.
Great advertising for POI-Factory though!
...and yes, The Globe and Mail is a very large and respected newspaper with national distribution.
Cheers,
Rob

When you die, if you get a choice between going to regular heaven or pie heaven, choose pie heaven. It might be a trick, but if it's not, mmmmmmm, boy.

Lots of Canadians

I recently attended GW VI - the largest (to date) gathering of geocachers in the world. I met quite a few folks from Nova Scotia and even did a bit of caching with some of them. They were great folks. If they're representative of Canadians then I say the more the better.

(I'd never really heard anybody say "aboot" before. cool )
