First... I am glad I found this place... a lot of great information.
I am new to Garmin... just purchased a nuvi 750 earlier this week. Previously I had a Sony NV-U73T which was a good unit... just a lot of bugs.
This is a great site with a lot to offer... and I hope to use several of these items.
My question... if someone can help... on my Sony the POI's always showed up on the map... by default... I am not seeing that on the Garmin. Am I missing a setting or can this be done?
Thanks in advance...
Ronnie

No, you aren't missing anything. You need to zoom in to at least 300 (maybe 200) feet or closer. And on the 7xx series with the current firmware, you must be browsing the map (which means you must touch the screen) in order for them to show up.
Thank MM... I will check
Thank MM... I will check that out shortly. I appreciate your quick response.

Is that the same with the 660?

Thank MM... you were absolutely right. Not exactly what I was expecting. I really liked the way the Sony displayed the icons automatically... but like I said... the Sony did have a few bugs.

I had this same question. I have a Nuvi 200W. Can I have the POIs show up on the map? Also they can be do I get to choose which ones show up? Is it only the custom POIs or also the loaded POIs?

You need to zoomed in to 200 feet or closer in a 2D (not 3D) map mode in order for them to show on the screen. You cannot choose which are going to show up.

Yes, except I don't think you need to be browsing the map. So, zoom in and see at what level they show on the screen and you find out what the threshold is.
