I know we have a lot of the chain hamburger places but some of the best are from little greasy spoon mom and pop places. I would like to see a project of a collection of the best burger joints we have found. I'm specially intersted in AZ and So Cal. and So NV as we take motorcycle trips just to go for burgers. I'm new and don't know how to create yet but would be willing to learn if there is enough interest in this.

I submitted these three burger joints over a year ago, and they were listed in the file for a while. But I noticed they aren't listed anymore. All of these burger joints still exist.

I guess I just got a bad one and should try them again sometime. But I decided to try a local (Troy, MI) Five Guys a few weeks ago and it was among the worst burgers I've ever had. I understand that all restaurants want to cook meat thoroughly, especially hamburger; but this one wasn’t just well-done, it was cooked to death! It was burned on both sides and resembled jerky more than a burger, not to mention tasteless. Without exaggerating (seriously), I enjoy McDoubles far more than I did that Five Guys burger – not even taking into account the 4X price difference.
Before you ask, I did complain and they offered me a refund, which I refused - I always refuse food refunds. There is no way they’ll take my comments seriously if they think I’m just trying to get free food.

I only found one place in your current list from Oklahoma so here are some of the best that I know about. I've traveled this state for many years and there are many more than these that I consider great, but this is a start mostly in my hometown. This is also the home of Sonic.
This first post will only be about Johnnie’s Charcoal Broiler. It's one of the top 5 burger joints in the Oklahoma City (OKC) area. For many years there was just one location. It was started 40 years ago by a restaurant manager that managed a just as famous local burger joint for 20 years, before he started Johnnie's. Like an explosion they started expanding rapidly a few years ago. However, each location still has maintained the consistent taste. I have been to almost all their places. The best one is the original location. The Express locations have about the same menu, but seat less people and really designed as a drive through.
This is an expensive burger joint (burger fries and pop $9) with everything that they sell having an excellent taste. Maybe best Onion Rings in town.

Have you guys heard of the McRib? Apparently this is a cult food item that has its followers for a long time. Only recently have I read about it. I guess I've seen it from time to time but didn't ever try one.
They are not at every McDonalds... only a few and never at one location for very long. People are so obsessed they have created a locator map.
