I know we have a lot of the chain hamburger places but some of the best are from little greasy spoon mom and pop places. I would like to see a project of a collection of the best burger joints we have found. I'm specially intersted in AZ and So Cal. and So NV as we take motorcycle trips just to go for burgers. I'm new and don't know how to create yet but would be willing to learn if there is enough interest in this.

One of the best and cheapest places to find a burger in my hometown (somewhere around $5 for a burger & fries, if I recall correctly). The original restaurant had the 'old, hole in the wall' look and feel to it, though unfortunately it burned down a few years ago due to a kitchen fire after hours. The owners rebuilt it with a much more modern feel to it (new wooden furniture, flat screen TV's all over, etc.), though thankfully the food has stayed the same. Definitely worth a visit if you're anywhere nearby.

People, does it have to be greasy or would very good hamburgers be acceptable?
All I have to say about that is, if it ain't sloppy and greasy, why bother it must be a dry Garden Burger!

They serve some *massive* burgers here, currently their largest is the "Challenge Burger" - 5lbs of beef, 20 slices of cheese, 20 slices of bacon and 5lbs of fries! I was *barely* able to finish a Godzilla, which is a mere 1lb of beef (4 quarter lb patties stacked)4 slices of cheese and 1lb of fries. I wouldn't be surprised if the patties were 1/4lb after cooking, as even the Godzilla was so big you couldn't really get your mouth around it. They used to post photos on the wall of those who could finish the larger burgers (and all the fries too, that's the hard part
), they probably still do but I haven't been out that way in a while. Good burgers, and you'll never have to ask "where's the beef?"

I have three more to add. One in Ohio and two in the Chicago Suburbs.
For the best burger's in the world you have to stop at Hickies's Hamburger in Southern Ohio, just outside of Portsmouth. I don't live near it so can't stop by when I crave it. The burgers are tiny, but so is the price. There is nothing fancy here. They serve you on Wax Paper, not even a plate.
